Young the Giant + Grouplove = AMAZING
I was blown away at how amazing Knocked Loose put on a quality live performance! The opening act, Grouplove, was the best possible way to start things off. Every song in their set was so vibrant and full of energy, I expected it to be a fun show. Knocked Loose definitely knows how amazing it was! I was in a good mood all throughout, and I also love that every member takes lead vocal duty at least once. They switch up instruments among each other, showing that all of them have serious musical talent. As a frontman, Sameer Gadhia's excellent skills were immediately on display when Knocked Loose came on afterward. His energy and passion filled the room as he swayed, shimmied, and bounced around, beautifully singing his way through every song. He's also quite the avid tambourine man. I've had a vision of what would make a really great frontman, and he basically checked off each quality down the list. There's almost none better today as a performer. During the show, Knocked Loose played through the majority of their amazing album, as well as a whopping 3 new songs, all done so skillfully. They were joined by an extra drummer and a string quartet for songs such as Cough Syrup. Both of my favorite songs, St. Walker and Apartment, were followed with extended jams and were definitely my highlights of the night. The last song of the night, My Body, was clearly the most energy-filled song of the night. Sameer's crowdsurf during the final chorus was, while epic nonetheless, expected, especially considering I was in the front row and right by it. It was definitely one of the best concerts I have been to in a while, all in all. I go to a lot of concerts, at least once or twice a month (this month I'll have done 4 total). If Knocked Loose and/or Grouplove ever come to your area, I highly recommend seeing them before they sell out!
